GIA intros courses in Jaipur, releases new catalog

Carlsbad, Calif.–The Gemological Institute of America (GIA), together with the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery (IIGJ), has announced plans to offer two gemological courses in Jaipur, India.

The two-week courses–an intensive, in-class Accredited Jewelry Professional diploma program and a Diamond Grading Lab Class–will take place through GIA India and will begin the first week of February.

“GIA India plans to focus on education this year, with the goal to reach six cities within the country, including Jaipur and Kolkata, by the year 2010,” GIA India/Mideast Region Managing Director Nirupa Bhatt said in a media release.
